The PREPARE Dissemination Workshop "Innovative integrative tools and platforms" will be organised on January 20-22, 2016 in Bratislava (Slovak Republic).

The Workshop will allow to present the results of the PREPARE project and to collect feedback from the participants on the topics of potential future research activities. The knowledge acquired during the project will be disseminated as well as the capability of the developed methods and tools in particular those of the Analytical Platform for collecting information, analysing any nuclear or radiological event and provide information about the consequences and its future development.

This Workshop, organised in cooperation with the University of Milano, will cover the State of the art and Needs for further research for emergency and recovery preparedness and response.

The NERIS Workshop 2015 will provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange with NERIS Members, International organisations and European Research communities on priorities for the NERIS Platform.

Plenary sessions will be organised on topics related to the 3 research areas of the NERIS SRA:

• New challenges in atmospheric & aquatic modelling – Needs for improvement.
• New challenges for better dose assessments and decision support based on improved knowledge: source term, scenarios, etc.
• New challenges in stakeholder involvement and local preparedness and communication strategies.

The Sixth NERIS General Assembly will be organised at this occasion on April 29, 2015 afternoon.

The Euratom NERIS-TP research project on “Preparedness for Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Response and Recovery” starded in February 2011. The objectives of the project were firstly to solve urgent research needs such as the implementation of the new ICRP recommendations in the simulation models, the coupling of decision support systems such as ARGOS and RODOS to early notification systems and to carry out research activities to improve emergency management on the local and the national level, and secondly to support the operation of the NERIS Platform in order to make it sustainable in the long term.

The NERIS-TP dissemination workshop will allow to present the results of the NERIS-TP project and to bring together best practice, knowledge and technology to enhance the preparedness for Europe’s response to any radiation emergency and recovery situation.

Actors in emergency and recovery preparedness and management from all levels and sectors are encouraged to participate in this workshop.

NERIS Topical Workshop - 22 May 2013, Madrid (Spain)

This Topical Workshop has been organised at the initiative of the NERIS Working Group on Contaminated Goods, focussing on international experiences in the management of contaminated foodstuff and other goods after Chernobyl and Fukushima accidents and particularly in Japan, Belarus, Norway and the UK: experts and other stakeholders from these countries have been invited for presenting their feedback on these issues. International organisations (e.g. IAEA, EC, FAO, NEA-OECD) were  also expected to share their recent international experiences in the management, monitoring and radioactivity control of goods coming from Japan. At the end of the workshop, a round table has been organised to discuss the lessons learned and challenges for the management of contaminated goods.
